The Minnewaska Lutheran Home (MLH) Web site has been created to provide a wide variety information to visitors about MLH – our organization, our residents, our programs – as a public service. At the same time, MLH is very aware of many individuals’ concern for privacy and protection of their personal information. As an organization, MLH is committed to maintaining high standards for the protection of privacy over the Internet. We want to explain what kind of information MLH obtains about individuals navigating our Web site, how we obtain the information, how MLH will use the information, and how individuals can restrict its use or disclosure.

Minnewaska Lutheran Home is committed to safeguarding visitor privacy on the MLH web site. We require our staff to protect the privacy of information about our Web site visitors. You can feel confident that any individually identifiable information will be protected when you provide it to us.

The only information MLH obtains about individual visitors to our Web site is information supplied voluntarily by that individual. You are free to visit our Web site without telling us who you are or revealing any information about yourself whatsoever.

You can choose to provide identifiable information about yourself to MLH by sending us e-mail. The information you supply for a specific purpose will be used for that purpose only; for example, to provide information that you request.

We do not send unsolicited "junk" e-mail, or spam. MLH staff will use e-mail to respond to individuals’ e-mails wherever possible, although we may use regular mail if that is more appropriate. If you ever receive an unwanted e-mail from us, please simply send us an e-mail asking us not to send you e-mail communication in the future.

MLH does not sell or disclose any individually identifiable information obtained online about our visitors to anyone outside of MLH unless specifically authorized, required by law, and/or disclosure is necessary to protect the safety of employees or property.

At this time, the MLH web site does not contain links to any site other the Minnewaska Home Development Foundation (MDHF). MDHF serves as the fundraising arm of the MLH to support its operations so both organizations are closely affiliated.

MLH will continually work to gauge the effectiveness of its Web site and improve the services it can offer the public. In the future, we do plan to expand our capabilities for obtaining information from our Web site. Our first step will be to collect generic information about our visitors, which does not reveal a visitor's identity. We are working to have our Web server automatically recognize a visitor's domain name (i.e., .com, .edu, etc.), the Web page from which a visitor enters our site, the specific pages navigated on our site, and how much time is spent on each page. We plan to collect and analyze this information to evaluate and improve our web site.

MLH will continue to update this privacy statement to ensure that visitors to our Web site are aware of developments in this area.
