History of Minnewaska Lutheran Home

To fulfill the need for a permanent facility for the care of the aging population, the Minnewaska Lutheran Home was completed and dedicated on July 23, 1961, by Governor Elmer E. Anderson. The original Home provided space for 38 residents. It was expanded in 1970, 1972, 1974, 1989, and 2005 to a facility presently giving care to 72 residents.

The Minnewaska Lutheran Home occupies a full square block close to Starbuck's downtown shopping area and local churches. It has been built with the intention of providing happiness and comfort in a homey atmosphere, with a definite Christian environment for our senior citizens.

Minnewaska Lutheran Home has a rich heritage base of quality care for it's residents at Minnewaska Lutheran Home. Our home is affiliated with 8 local Lutheran Churches in our community and they serve as the Board of Directors.
