Internet Site Privacy Policy The Minnewaska Home Development Foundation (MHDF) Web site has been created to provide a wide variety information to visitors about MHDF – our organization, our fundraising efforts, our goals, and information on philanthropic gifting in general – as a public service. We believe the Internet will help us reach far-ranging and diverse members of the public. At the same time, MHDF is very aware of many individuals’ concern for privacy and protection of their personal information. As an organization, MHDF is committed to maintaining high standards for the protection of privacy over the Internet. We want to explain what kind of information MHDF obtains about individuals navigating our Web site, how we obtain the information, how MHDF will use the information, and how individuals can restrict its use or disclosure. The Minnewaska Home Development Foundation is committed to safeguarding visitor privacy on the MHDF Web site. We require our staff to protect the privacy of information about our Web site visitors. You can feel confident that any individually identifiable information will be protected when you provide it to us. The only information MHDF obtains about individual visitors to our Web site is information supplied voluntarily by that individual. You are free to visit our Web site without telling us who you are or revealing any information about yourself whatsoever. You can choose to provide identifiable information about yourself to MHDF by sending us e-mail. The information you supply for a specific purpose will be used for that purpose only; for example, to provide information that you request. We do not send unsolicited "junk" e-mail, or spam. MHDF staff will use e-mail to respond to individuals’ e-mails wherever possible. We will use e-mail or regular mail, as appropriate, to send information that has been requested. If you ever receive an unwanted e-mail from us, please simply send us an e-mail asking us not to send you e-mail communication in the future. MHDF does not sell or disclose any individually identifiable information obtained online about our visitors to anyone outside of MHDF unless specifically authorized, required by law, and/or disclosure is necessary to protect the safety of employees or property. At this time, the MHDF web site does not contain links to any site other the Minnewaska Lutheran Home (MLH). The Minnewaska Home Development Foundation serves as the fundraising arm of the Minnewaska Lutheran Home to support its operations and, therefore, we do have an affiliation with this worthwhile organization.
MHDF will continually work to gauge the effectiveness of its Web site and improve the services it can offer the public. In the future, we do plan to expand our capabilities for obtaining information from our Web site. Our first step will be to collect generic information about our visitors, which does not reveal a visitor's identity. We are working to have our Web server automatically recognize a visitor's domain name (i.e., .com, .edu, etc.), the Web page from which a visitor enters our site, the specific pages navigated on our site, and how much time is spent on each page. We plan to collect and analyze this information to evaluate and improve our web site.
MHDF will continue to update this privacy statement to ensure that visitors to our Web site are aware of developments in this area.
