Over 100 members of the community help us to serve the residents of the Minnewaska Lutheran Home. The mission of the Minnewaska Lutheran Home Auxiliary is to raise funds for the Home, and to assist the Home to help each resident live to their highest potential as individuals, in a facility that provides services within a Christian setting. The Auxiliary began on March 21, 1960, to raise funds to speed up payment of the building fund loan certificate debt, and to help provide furnishings for the home. The initial members represented local churchwomen's organizations and meetings were held at the churches. The original membership grew from eighteen to over 200. In its first 10 years, the Auxiliary raised over $50,000.00.
The Auxiliary sponsors numerous annual fundraising events including Heritage Days, the Fall Bazaar, and
an Appreciation Luncheon. |
