Mission Statement
The mission of the Minnewaska Lutheran Home Auxiliary is to raise funds for MLH, and to assist the MLH in their mission to provide care in the spirit of excellence, with the purpose of helping each resident to live their highest potential as individuals and to live in a facility that provides services within a Christian environment.
Auxiliary History
The Auxiliary was organized in 1960 for the purpose of raising funds to help speed up payment of
the building fund loan certificate debt, and to help provide furnishings.
Eighteen women came together on March 21, 1960, to organize the Minnewaska Lutheran Home Auxiliary. These ladies were from the local church women's organizations. Mrs. Arthur Ranum was elected the 1st President of the Minnewaska Lutheran Home Auxiliary. Meetings were held at various churches, which were the nucleus for MLH.
The membership grew to 200 women. The ladies formed groups. There were 18 groups. Each group worked hard. They have raised money in every conceivable way, such as bake sales, "come as you are" (kidnap) coffee parties, annual bazaars, serving at various civic functions. Some ladies would drive around the lake selling vegetables or eggs out of the trunk of their cars, to raise money. In the first 10 years, over $50,000.00 was raised. Over the years, many of the improvements at the home have been paid for by the Minnewaska Lutheran Home Auxiliary.

Auxiliary officers and group chairpersons meet monthly, prior to the General Meeting, at 1:30 p.m.
Monthly group meetings may be held, at the discretion of each group.

Auxiliary members report auxiliary business directly to their churchwomen organizations. The
following churches are represented in the Minnewaska Lutheran Home Auxiliary:
Membership dues of $3.00 per year are received annually in May by each Group Chairperson and
identified as such to the Treasurer.
General auxiliary meetings are held every 3rd Monday of each month, during the months of March
through October. The meetings are held in the Minnewaska Lutheran Home Commons, at 2:00 p.m.
